S. Southwell, No. 20Coaches' evaluations
“Sofia is a hard worker and loves to tackle when the opportunity arises. She plays simple and doesn't complicate the game. Sofia has a great positive attitude and is a team player.”
Rob Rennie, SoCal Blues club coach
“Sofia Southwell is an athletically, tactically and relationally sound player who is dangerous on both sides of the ball. She reads the game very well, has a great tactical foundation, and her recovery pace allows her to cover the field extremely well. Sofia is deeply committed to her craft and is one of the hardest workers in the program, approaching every training session with purpose and a drive to improve. She is a coachable, selfless teammate who never stops learning and growing. A solid leader, she leads with compassion, character and sets the tone through effort and example, earning the trust and respect of those around her. Sofia would be a valuable addition to any college program, both on the field and in the locker room.”
Kyle Thomas, El Dorado High School Girls Soccer Director and Varsity Coach
Player statement
“I am a tenacious competitor who refuses to back down from a challenge.”
I entered the game of soccer fueled by natural athleticism, but it was an immediate love for the sport's tactical thrill and dynamic energy that truly captivated me. Beyond the competitive drive, I am deeply committed to leadership, striving to lead by example both on and off the field. I prioritize integrity and respect in my interactions, aiming to leave a lasting, positive impact on my teammates and peers. What a stat line cannot fully capture is my exceptionally high work rate and resilience; I am a tenacious competitor who refuses to back down from a challenge. Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, I consistently give maximum effort and adapt to any situational demand to perform at the highest level.
