Two stations, one line

What she gives a back four

Ivy is listed at outside back and she plays centre back, which for a coach is one fewer substitution to plan for. The two jobs share a line and almost nothing else: one is a footrace you cannot lose, the other is a decision you cannot get wrong. She is asked to do both in the same season.

OBOUTSIDEPrimary station

Wide, in a footrace, defending the touchline and the space behind it at the same time. The full back is the only defender who has to recover facing her own goal and still get forward when it turns over.

CBCENTRESecond station

Central, where the ball arrives with a striker attached to it. Less running, more reading: the job is to be in the right place early enough that the sprint is never needed.

In her words

From her intake

Soccer has taught me discipline, resilience, how to keep pushing myself, and how nothing comes easy. I have grown through both the challenges and successes, and I want to keep improving on and off the field.

The contact rule is not the same for every division

Division I coaches: under NCAA rules you may not initiate contact with a class of 2029 recruit until 15 June 2027, so please reach her through her club head coach until then. Camp and clinic invitations are the exception and you may extend those directly at any time.

Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College coaches: your divisions do not carry the Division I contact date, so you are welcome to reach Ivy directly, today.

Either way, the fastest thing you can do is watch her play. Her schedule is above, under the film.

Division I route, preferred
Robbie Mulligan

Her club head coach. He can answer for her and arrange anything a visit needs.
Division II, III, NAIA and JUCO
Ivy Garcia
ivygarcia.soccer@gmail.com
Direct, today. Those divisions do not carry the Division I contact date.

Prefer a quick note? This reaches Ivy’s club head coach.
